Live calculator
The Facade Quantities Calculator helps architects and contractors estimate cladding material quantities for building facades. Calculate total cladding area, panel counts, and material requirements for curtain walls, rainscreens, and other facade systems.
Accurate facade quantity calculations are essential for cost estimation, material ordering, and construction planning. The calculator accounts for building geometry, openings, and panel sizes to provide precise material takeoffs.
Enter building dimensions, facade areas, opening sizes, and panel specifications to calculate total cladding area, number of panels, and material quantities. The tool helps optimize panel layouts and estimate costs for various facade systems including metal panels, precast, stone, and composite materials.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Facade Area = (Building Perimeter × Height) - Opening Areas. For multiple facades, calculate each separately. Include all exterior wall area including spandrels and solid panels.
Panel Count = (Cladding Area ÷ Panel Area) × (1 + Waste Factor). Waste factors typically range from 5-10% depending on panel size, building geometry, and cutting requirements.
Deduct all glazed openings: windows, curtain wall, doors with glazing, and skylights. Opaque spandrel panels and solid doors are typically included in cladding area.
Add 5-10% waste factor for standard panels, 10-15% for custom sizes or complex geometries. Larger panels typically have less waste than smaller panels due to fewer cuts.
